Anthony Lauriano presents a program on genealogy, describing the procedures for writing your family history after procuring regional and ancestral documentation. He will provide tips on writing the story for future generations in a narrative style, utilizing genealogy charts, timelines, family stories and records gathered. He will also provide methods to discern the conditions in the home country which lead to your ancestors coming to America as well as clues to discerning your ancestors personalities.
After the presentation, we will also hold a discussion about the resources available in the Local History Room of the Nyack Library and through the Nyack Historical Society. The local History Room will have open hours after the discussion so audience members can visit the room under the guidance of the library staff.
